There are many wonderful tips and ideas as well as instruction on how to deal with such a special needs fur child. My own dog has severe separation anxiety. There are also many pet day care centers evolving and doggie day care centers as well as in home caretakers that will come and play with your pets and spend a couple hours with them , decreasing their loneliness and or boredom.
There is medication that you can obtain from your vet for pets that are very frantic or destructive on your absence. One is Prozac, and recently approved is a drug called Clomicalm.
