As of April '99, Trapper is still with us at WildTalk. He has crossed the hurdles of adjustment and is doing very well. Everyone who meets him purrrsonally can see immediately "why" I took on the burden of responsibility for him. WildTalk has had to make many sacrifices to provide sanctuary for Trapper. I have received some negative comments in regards to how costly it was to save his life. It's true, it has been a very heavy burden. There have been legal ramifications and there are continuing hardships involved with his safe refuge here. Yet in retrospect, all things considered, would I do it again? YES!! I don't expect everyone to understand. Nor do I expect everyone to agree on everything. Differences of opinion and diversity is what makes life full and rich. Yet, I must do what I believe in my heart to be right. To allow any Canadian Lynx, endangered in many parts of our country as well as world wide, to be euthanized (killed) when ANYONE within our organization or even outside it has the knowledge and resources and ability to save its life, to let ONE perish is to bring us ALL one step closer to extinction. To save one, is to keep us one step further away from extinction. Linda Porasso of Kats Korner designed the beautiful web page with Trappers story, where you will find photos of him and the details of his story. We will continue to update his situation. Thank you Linda for the beautiful web page you did for Trapper! If anyone would like to sponsor Trapper, he is our number one Adoptee, Adoptee of the Month, Season and Year! Trapper could really use a "Corporate sponsor"! If you would like to sponsor Trapper, you will receive for your donation and/or commitment, and 8x10 photo of him, as well as a personal mouse pad of Trapper! You will be able to visit him at the sanctuary and meet him purrrrsonally! Sponsorships are available for other animals at WildTalk. Some animals are available for adoption. If you don't want to make a long term commitment, yrly sponsorships, we have semi-annual programs. Or you may be a friend to the animals with a one time gift donation. All donations are tax deductible. Contact us for more information. If you are a business or a corporation, WildTalk desperately needs your sponsorship or even as a FRIEND of the animals, a one time gift or donation. Your sponsorship provides the finances and resources we need to be able to continue educational programming in schools who have had budget cuts, programming for handicap groups which in the 13 yrs WildTalk has gone to hospitals, handicapped schools, groups or private hospice settings, we have never charged for our time and never will. We have accepted a few cases of meat for the big cats or fruit for the birds and kinkajou and bats. YOUR GIFT and/or sponsorship provides that opportunity for those who cannot afford such programming to meet the animals and experience the friendship of the Wild Ones that are educational ambassadors here at WildTalk. Your financial gift or goods and services is greatly needed and appreciated. As a corporate "sponsor", for local buinesses, WildTalk will bring some of our animal ambassadors to your company luncheon or meeting activities. Corporate gifts, donations, goods or services are tax deducatible. You will be making a positive difference in the lives of many children as well as disabled people who are not always able to go out to a zoo or such a facility. We make home visits to homebound seniors, disabled friends, and hospice situations. WildTalk needs your help to continue these opportunities.
