The Usual J/24 Class Rules For Regatta Participation

Sailors competing in the Great Racing Regatta will observe all rules of the J/24 Class Association. As a reminder, the following Class Rules are listed below for particular attention:

  1. Each yacht will have a valid measurement certificate and carry this form on board while racing.

  2. Each yacht will complete the "Inventory Of Required & Optional Equipment" and carry this form on board while racing.

  3. Owner, plus anyone who steers a yacht in a race, must be a current member of the J/24 Class.

    Please have your 2001 membership card available at registration. Or you may join at registration.

  4. Crew will weigh-in at registration. Maximum crew weight is 882 pounds.
    Substitution of a crew member during the regatta must be authorized by the race committee (prior to the substitution).

  5. Corrector weights will be installed as specified by Rule #3.7.2.

  6. Sail numbers displayed by a yacht will be the same as her hull number, unless prior written authorization by the race committee is received.

  7. A throwable lifesaving device will be on board, within easy reach of the helmsman for instant use.
