Directed the entire creative and art imagery for the most dynamic merchandise operation in theme parks in the country, generating the highest per capita income in the industry. In less than 1 year I designed and developed all Imagery for a new company to enter the consumer software industry. Over the 5 years I was with Mindscape, Inc.; we went from a Scott-Forsman subsidiary to a stand alone Software Developer generating a 26 million dollar bottom line. We developed software for 5 computer platforms and 2 game machines. (Nintendo and Sega) My duties expanded from Art Director to Vice president with responsibility for new product development as well as directing the image and visual direction for all product media. Mindscapes rise in this volatile market is a tribute to a lot of talents and I take pride in the contributions my talents played in this success. When Mindscape was sold and moved to the West coast I chose to pursue other interests.

Researched feasibility and implemented a state of the art computer animation system for Nolan Bushnell, founder of Atari and a host of other high tech companies. I was responsible for all Character development and character merchandise for the fastest growing franchise in the country. The computer animation system and department I assembled and directed worked on In-House animated stories for distribution throughout the Pizza Time chain. When I joined with Pizza Time Theatre they had only 3 franchisees and 4 company stores. When I left them to join Mindescape we had over 300 stores and franchises, and Chuck E. Cheese was scheduled for an ABC Christmas special.

Marriott corporation had plans in 1975 for two theme parks to add to their Hotel chain. They had a head hunting team looking at several levels of Walt Disney World and Disney Land management. I was recruited from Walt Disney World. My area of responsibility was to negotiate and develop a licensed character line for use in merchandising and general park usage. I coordinated and satisfied all In -Park Licensed merchandise and print character fidelity for the single largest Warner Bros.; program in the world. During the five years I was with Marriott Corporation we had the highest per capita income in the theme park industry. My experience at Walt Disney World proved to be an invaluable preamble to this effort.

As a senior art director at Walt Disney World in the Merchandise Division my responsibility was to design and develop Disney character merchandise art. This position required a broad spectrum of art and management skills including photographic art direction, Illustration, animation as well as a keen sense of design as it applied to the entertainment and leisure time industry. I was responsible for character merchandise design and development as well as all packaging and print or advertising materials. My projects ranged from directing retail advertising programs and promotions for the Lake Buena Vista Shopping Center to the design and flavor for EPCOT themed areas. Why would anyone leave this job?
