Pell Lake Sanitary District No. 1
Open Meeting Minutes

P.O. Box 388 Commissioners
Pell Lake, WI 53157 President Ed Nosalski
(414) 279-5020 Secretary Bill Markut
Treasurer Eileen Stefanski

Date: August 7, 1997
Location: Bloomfield Town Hall

Meeting was called to order by Ed Nosalski at 7:00 p.m. with Ed Nosalski, Bill Markut, and Eileen Stefanski present.

Agenda posting verified by Eileen Stefanski with a suggestion by a district resident that an additional posting should be done at Lakeside Grocery as well. Bill Markut stated that this would be done in the future, but the only official posting locations would be the Town Hall, the Post Office, and the local bank.

Ed Nosalski introduced Bill Markut as the newest commissioner on the Sanitary District Board replacing Rosemary Badame. Eileen Stefanski mentioned at this time that we are able to reelect new officers if we so desire. It was decided that the offices remain unchanged.

The upcoming conditional use hearing to be held in Elkhorn on Thursday, August 21, 1997 at 7:00 p.m. was discussed. All supporters of the wastewater treatment plant are encouraged to attend. If unable to attend, letters can be addressed to the Walworth County Planning & Zoning Committee. The decision will be announced on Friday, August 22 by a meeting notice or a posting at the usual locations.

Audience members mentioned several concerns about the condition of the roads from last year's construction. The board agreed to look into this further with the engineers.

The board discussed an agreement with the Lake Como Sanitary District. Bill Markut motioned to sign the agreement and Ed Nosalski seconded the motion. All were in favor, motion passed.

There was much discussion about creating the policies regarding assessment adjustments. The board will decide on this issue at the regular monthly meeting on Monday, August 18. The debate centered on how to fairly calculate the assessment cost for parcels that are combined or split now, and in the future.

Ed Nosalski motioned to adjourn at 8:45 p.m. and Bill Markut seconded the motion. All were in favor and motion passed.

Respectfully submitted,

Bill Markut, Secretary
